Quick read
Strictly necessary items keep the site secure and remember your cookie choice. Optional analytics and marketing tools load only if you opt in through the banner or settings panel.
Your control
Use Cookie settings in the footer to reopen the panel. You can also clear site data in your browser, which resets preferences until you choose again.
What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They often contain an identifier, an expiry time, and sometimes a payload used by the application. Similar technologies include pixel tags, scripts that set identifiers in storage, and HTML5 local storage. For simplicity, this policy refers to all of these as “cookies” unless we specify otherwise.
How we use cookies on this site
We use cookies to deliver core functionality, remember privacy choices, and—only with consent—to measure how pages perform or to support marketing measurement. We do not use cookies to infer special categories of data about you from browsing alone. If you submit personal data through a form, that processing is covered in the privacy policy rather than here.
Categories in detail
Strictly necessary
These cookies or storage entries are essential for the website to function. Examples include security tokens that mitigate cross-site request forgery, load-balancing flags, and the record of whether you have dismissed the cookie banner. They do not require consent under the ePrivacy framework because they are strictly limited to providing a service explicitly requested by you.
Analytics
If you enable analytics, we may load scripts that collect pseudonymous identifiers, page URLs, referrer information, and coarse device data. The purpose is to understand aggregate traffic patterns and improve content structure. You can disable this category at any time through the cookie settings interface.
Marketing
If you enable marketing cookies, we may measure interactions with campaigns or allow advertising partners to recognise your browser across sites where those partners operate. Marketing cookies are not placed until you provide consent. Withdrawing consent stops new reads and writes, though previously stored identifiers may persist until they expire or you clear them manually.
Where we use Google Ads or similar platforms for measurement or remarketing, those vendors may set or read cookies or similar storage in line with your choices and their policies. See our privacy policy (advertising section) and Google’s resources for ad settings.
Transparency note. When analytics or marketing tools are inactive, our pages still function for reading and navigation. Some embedded media from third parties may attempt to set their own cookies; we configure defaults to minimise unexpected storage.
Consent and local storage
When you first visit, we display a banner that lets you accept all categories, reject optional categories, or open detailed settings. Your choice is stored in a localStorage key named tdde_cookie_prefs_v1 as a JSON object with boolean fields for analytics and marketing. Strictly necessary cookies remain active regardless. We re-read this object on subsequent visits so we do not repeatedly ask for the same decision unless you clear storage or we change our policy in a material way.
Duration and renewal
Session cookies expire when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain until their stated expiry or until you delete them. Preference data in localStorage persists until you remove it. If we update our cookie list in a way that introduces new vendors, we may prompt you to confirm your choices again.
Third-party technologies
Where we integrate third-party services, those providers may set their own cookies subject to their own policies. We require processors to process data in line with the Privacy Act 2020 and to offer appropriate controls. A current list of categories is available on request; specific vendor names may change as we rotate providers for security.
Browser controls
Major browsers allow you to block third-party cookies, delete all cookies on exit, or clear data for specific sites. Blocking all cookies may interfere with login flows or preference storage. Consult your browser’s help pages for step-by-step instructions. Mobile operating systems often expose similar controls under privacy or tracking settings.
Updates
We may revise this cookies policy when we add new tools or when regulators publish guidance. The date shown in the hero section reflects the current day when you load the page in your browser. Archived versions can be requested from the contact address below.
